DESCRIPTION:Welcome to UNLEASHED! We believe Jesus is coming soon. That’s why this year’s 10 Days of Prayer theme is all about inviting \nthe Holy Spirit to transform our lives and our world. Join us as we seek God for 10 days of Spirit-led revival. \nBefore He died\, Jesus promised the gift of the Holy Spirit to His followers: “And I will pray the Father\, and He will give you \nanother Helper\, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth” (John 14:16\, 17). Later\, just before leaving this earth to \nprepare a place for us in eternity\, Jesus commanded His disciples to stay in Jerusalem and “wait for the Promise of the Father\,” \nwhich was the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:4\, 5). \nHowever\, this promised Gift is still largely unopened by God’s people. We talk about this Gift. We study and analyze this Gift. But \ntoo often we never get around to opening this Gift of the Holy Spirit. \nWithout a doubt\, only the Holy Spirit can renew our sinful hearts: “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you” \n(Ezek. 36:26). \nOnly the Holy Spirit can transform our children: “I will pour out My Spirit on your descendants\, and My blessing on your \noffspring” (Isa. 44:3). \nAnd only the Holy Spirit connects us to God’s heavenly family: “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are \nchildren of God” (Rom. 8:16). \nBest of all\, God is more than willing to give us the Holy Spirit: “If you then\, being evil\, know how to give good gifts to your \nchildren\, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” (Luke 11:13). \nThe promise is already there\, waiting for us to claim it. Ellen White writes\, “If all were willing\, all would be filled with the Spirit. \nWherever the need of the Holy Spirit is a matter little thought of\, there is seen spiritual drought\, spiritual darkness\, spiritual \ndeclension and death.” She also asks\, “Since this is the means by which we are to receive power\, why do we not hunger and \nthirst for the gift of the Spirit? Why do we not talk of it\, pray for it\, and preach concerning it?” (The Acts of the Apostles\, p. 50). \nThe indwelling Holy Spirit fills us with the Father’s love and empowers us to be fearless and effective witnesses for Christ. Why \nnot ask for this Gift?
